
The 30th Anniversary celebration of the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards is on June 20th at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
The special artwork has been designed by local artist Oliver Kinney for this special event. The theme this year is ‘Ālohilohi ka lei hōkū — Celebrating 30 years — the stars of distinction.
The academy is proud to announce the winning composition for the 30th anniversary song contest. UH Hilo Hawaiian Language Professor Keola Donaghyʻs mele entitled "Nā Hōkū Pio ‘Ole" shined brightly.
