MIKE KA'AWA

Touted everywhere he performs on the islands and one of the best known and highly regarded musicians in Hawai'i, contemporary musician Mike Ka'awa is finally coming into how own with the debut of his CD, entitled Hawn Boy.

Hwn Boy is a fine collection of lyrics that reflect the importance of the ocean's influence and other influences that he has held near and dear in his heart all these years. Like an ocean himself, Ka'awa takes listeners on a magical and hypnotic wave of smooth, sweet sounds, pure intensity and gentle calmness through the CD's culmination of classic Hawaiian tunes, original compositions and ki ho'alu instrumentals.

It is because of his chamelion-like status in Hawaiian music that Ka'awa's career has spanned almost three decades and a long list of accomplishments, including performances with the Mike Ka'awa Trio, Brown Company, Par Three, and the Native Hawaiian Band to name a few.
