Hahani Mai is a stunning debut release for Kekuhi Kanahele, and shows her strengths as vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer. It features all original tunes, most co-composed by Kekuhi and her husband Kaipo Frias, himself an instructor of Hawaiian language and studies and the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. Produced by Punahele Productions (Keali'i Reichel, Fred Krauss, and Jim Linkner), it displays Kekuhi's mastery of her voice in a variety of musical settings.

This path taken, song composition, is made smoothly by the footprints of the ancients who first tread upon this route. It is only because of this that I, with limited insight, am able to bear forth my parcel of love. What are the contents of this parcel unfolding before you - the multitudes?
