Aloha mai! A lot more great concerts this time out, plus four new recordings. Mahalo nui to Miko, Richard, Gregory, Andrew, Maria, and Fred for providing some of the concert info!

This page comes out twice a month, and I list the events in the coming two weeks as well as advance notice of all the concerts I hear about. If you want the advance scoops on other concerts, you can check out my back pages archived on NahenaheNet (see URL at bottom).


Recordings

Moe Keale, Imagine (Pa'ani Records PRD 1005). This is Moe's first recording in about ten years. It's part of the 'Ukulele Stylings Legend Series. Moe performs in both Hawaiian and English with such favorites as Hanohano O Maui, Aia i Hi'ikua, i Hi'ialo, Honi, Wonderful World, and The Water is Wide.

Ohe'o, Something Special (MS 9003). This is the first of two albums this time that tries to do it all -- a little English, a little Hawaiian, a little Spanish. Songs include Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai, Hawai'i Calls, Quando, Quando, Quando, Alone Again Naturally, Shring the Night Together, Elepaio Kolohe, and Umi Wai Slack Key.

Russell Mauga, He Kakahiaka Nani E (Shell Records SHCD 2004). This is the second album that tries to do it all. Songs include It's a Beautiful Morning (the Young Rascals hit), Take Good Care of My Baby, Pu'uanahulu, Sassy, Na Pua Ka Ilima, Na Loke O Kohala, and E Ku'ulei, e Ku'uipo.

Butch Helemano and the Players of Instruments, Still in the Hood (Kana'i Records KR 52894). A reggae recording from Butch, with songs 123 lines more (29%). Press for more, 'i' to return. including Stand by Me, Gotta Have Fun, Sunlight, and Dreaming (instrumental).
